Disney College Program

The Disney College Program offers options for students and recent graduates to live and learn at Disney World and Disney Land Resorts. You may opt to be a part-time student at App State by earning academic credit while at Disney. It is also possible to participate in the Disney College Program after graduation. Recent graduates can apply for consideration to the Disney College Program up to one year after they graduate. Recruiting and selection take place the semester before departure. Students must complete an on-line application on the Disney College Program website. Applications go live for the fall and fall advantage programs in early January and mid August for the spring and spring advantage programs.

Per Appalachian State University policy, second semester Freshmen and first semester transfer students are not allowed to participate in the Disney College Program. Make plans to apply and participate with Disney later in your course of study.

Noelle Roberson

My name is Noelle Roberson, and my major is Hospitality and Tourism Management. As part of the Disney College Program, I’m living in Disney provided apartments less than 10 minutes from Walt Disney World. I’m a Lifeguard at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, and it is honestly such a rewarding job. I get to see the Epcot fireworks every night, and I get to interact with guests in a unique way! This has meant so much to me; I’ve been coming to Disney World since I was 5 years old, so the Disney College Program has been a lifelong dream of mine! If you’re even slightly considering applying, I would say to just go for it!

Sallie Jones

Working at the 50s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios has been an incredibly enriching experience, immersing me in a world of nostalgia and whimsy. The restaurant’s theme transports guests back to the 1950s, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a family reunion at “Mom’s” house. We affectionately refer to everyone as cousins or kiddos, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. As a seater, my role involves more than just guiding guests to their tables; it’s about creating memorable moments and engaging with the restaurant’s unique theme. We playfully enforce “house rules,” reminding guests to eat their vegetables or risk a humorous scolding from “family members” like Uncle Alan, Cousin Whitney, or Cousin Tiffany. We also encourage guests to put away their “walkie-talkies” (cell phones) and embrace the simplicity of table manners, such as no elbows on the table.

Christopher Albaeck

I started as a Resort Concierge at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort in Fall 2023, planning to finish in January 2024 – but I was having such an amazing time that I decided to stay through May! Working with guests was a dream come true, whether it was helping a family visiting for the very first time or seasoned Disney fans back for their 100th stay. I loved every minute, from quick 10-minute check-ins to long chats where we’d dive into each park and plan their perfect day. Getting to share my own park experiences and make their visit special made every day feel magical!
