Virtual Career Studio
Starting March 23, Career Studio will be conducted through Zoom during regular Career Studio hours, Monday - Thursday between 2:00pm - 4:00pm. Students can join one of two Zoom meetings, one for each Career Guide, to get career assistance. When you join the meeting, you will automatically be placed into a waiting room until the Career Guide is available. Once ready, the Career Guide will move you from the waiting room into the meeting where you can communicate with them and get the career assistance you need.
The Career Studio is your first touch point for peer-to-peer career advising! The Career Studio provides a casual and accessible environment for students to talk about, work on, and get help with their career materials and questions from Career Guides. You can get assistance with:
- Resume Development and Reviews
- Cover Letter Development and Reviews
- How to use Handshake and LinkedIn
- Job Searching Skills and Tips
- Interview Preparation
From 2:00pm - 4:00pm, you can come when you'd like and stay for as long as you can to work on your career needs – no appointment necessary! Career Guides will offer assistance and answer questions as you need.
*Thank you to Enterprise Holdings for supporting our Career Studio!
Who are Career Guides?
Career Guides are high-achieving students who want to help their peers get ahead, and can offer relatable insight into the career development process. They are current students trained by the Career Development Center to provide assistance to undergraduate and graduate students in the above areas.
*Career Guides are trained by professional Career Development staff before classes start and continually throughout the academic year on a weekly basis. They have undergone a competitive application and hiring process, and were chosen to represent the Career Development Center as the first line of peer career assistance for students.
