Peace Corps
Our goal is to keep you informed on Peace Corps recruitment events taking place at Appalachian State University and the surrounding communities. A Peace Corps recruiter usually visits several times a year. While in the area, the recruiter holds general information sessions, attends an App State sponsored career fair and conducts interviews. Watch this recording for an introduction to what the Peace Corps is all about.
Peace Corps Prep Program
If you are interested in serving in the Peace Corps, we recommend starting with the Peace Corps Prep Program. This program will prepare you for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. Through interrelated coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development, you’ll build competencies in training and experience in a work sector, foreign language skills, intercultural competence, and professional leadership development. Watch this recording for a high level overview of the program. To proceed with this program, complete the application and then set up a meeting with Laura Pell on Handshake before submitting your application.
