The Career Development Center hosts a variety of career events and programs throughout the year to connect students with potential employers. These career fairs and events provide students with the opportunity to network, access numerous jobs and internships, and can even lead to an interview afterwards. The CAREEReady workshop series equips students with professional skills and provides opportunities to connect with peers about involvement experiences that are preparing them for the workforce!
We’ll bring the lunch, and you bring some spirited discussion! Join us for tools to close out the semester. Plus, we’ll help you consider this question: How prepared am I for the next steps to launch my career?
The Career Development Center welcomes you back to campus with a fun, interactive crafting event! ‘Collage Your Career’ will allow students to take a creative approach in mapping out their career goals & vision using various magazines, newspapers, pictures, etc.
Are you looking to gain experience through an internship? Come to the Internship Expo and meet large, small, non-profit, for-profit, government, local, statewide, and national organizations seeking interns. All majors and all class years are welcome.
Join the Career Development Center via Zoom to discuss career fair prep before Careers. Well Crafted. Hickory Career Fair happening on February 4th! We’ll discuss everything you need to know before attending the career fair, including updating your resume, dressing professionally, and networking effectively with employers & other students. We’ll have time at the end of the session for questions and discussion.

Spend your summer in the great outdoors while gaining skills in teaching, counseling, leading, climbing, boating, and more! Come to the Outdoor Jobs Fair and meet with top camps, conference centers, outfitters, and resorts throughout the US. This is a great opportunity to secure both summer and year-round employment. Internships are also available, and all majors are encouraged to attend.

Students who need professional clothing can drop by the Career Development Center in Plemmons Student Union to browse a variety of professional clothing items housed in the Center’s Look Smart Clothing Closet. Clothing items from the event are free to take, and there is no expectation that students bring them back. We have a variety of blazers, dresses, blouses, button-ups, pants, skirts, etc., in a wide range of sizes. This will be a drop-in event, so students can come and go as they please at the time that best suits them.
This will be a workshop focusing on preparing for future career fairs and students will learn to navigate the career fair with confidence. This will include, how to look up employers attending, elevator pitch, and what to bring and wear. Leon Levine Hall,
The Construction, Design, and Renewable Energy Technology Career Fair is an essential tool for networking, landing an internship, or getting hired for full-time employment! This targeted fair for students in the STBE discipline is open to all class levels. There will be more than 100 employers, with hundreds of internship and job opportunities for you!
The career fair is also a great opportunity to practice your career-readiness skills, like honing your networking skills, researching what employers are looking for in top candidates, and exploring majors and careers across different industries and job types.
Students should bring a resume with them to the fair. Make an appointment with your career coach or use our drop-in Career Studio hours (M-TH from 2-6pm) to get help creating or updating your resume.
Professional or business casual dress is also encouraged.

Appalachian State University’s Education Career Fair connects school administrators, superintendents, and other education-focused employers with talented students and alumni from the Reich College of Education. Employers will be recruiting for positions in education and related fields.
Nearly 100 employers will be in attendance, offering a wide range of internship and job opportunities. As a student interested in the field of education, you’ll have the chance to engage with public, private, and charter school districts from across North Carolina and beyond, along with additional organizations seeking passionate professionals to join the education workforce.
This event is also a valuable opportunity to build your career readiness—practice your networking skills, learn what employers are looking for in top candidates, and explore different roles and pathways within the education field.
Students are encouraged to bring a resume. For assistance, schedule an appointment with your career coach or stop by our drop-in Career Studio (Monday–Thursday, 2–6 p.m.). Professional or business casual attire is recommended. Some employers may conduct interviews following the fair, so come prepared to make a strong impression!
