As faculty and staff, you play a powerful role in connecting students with opportunities that fit their interests, skills, and career goals. Whether they’re looking for part-time work, internships, or full-time positions, your guidance can make the difference in helping them take the next step.

How We Support You

• Curated opportunities. We make it simple for you to recommend jobs and internships directly related to your students’ majors or career paths.

• Handshake access. With a faculty/staff account, you can view postings, search by industry or major, and share positions that align with your students’ academic focus.

• Ongoing updates. Handshake is updated daily with new roles—from local part-time jobs to national internships and career-level positions.

How It Works

1. Request an account. If you don’t yet have access, complete the short request form to get started.

2. Log in to Handshake. Use your App State credentials to browse the platform once your account is approved.

3. Search and share. Find opportunities that match your students’ fields of study and easily pass them along.

4. Encourage applications. Motivate students to apply early and often, and remind them to tailor their résumés and cover letters for each role.

Why It Matters

• Students are more likely to apply when they hear about an opportunity from a trusted professor or mentor.

• Faculty recommendations help students see the direct link between coursework and career opportunities.
