Tim Jones - Another CareerFest Success Story!
In Spring 2016, Tim came to CareerFest “just to see what was there.” He ended up talking to a Sherwin Williams representative that lead him to a part-time job in the company. He continued his Senior year at App, not really satisfied with what he was doing with Sherwin Williams, but (with his Mom’s encouragement) decided to go back to CareerFest in Spring 2017 to explore other options. This time, another Sherwin Williams representative saw his potential and encouraged him to apply to their Internship Program.
Tim got accepted, participated in the Internship, all while finishing up his degree at App State. He was immediately accepted into their Management Trainee Program and in just a few months, was placed as Assistant Manager in the Huntersville store and was asked to serve on the Sherwin Williams Recruitment Team. He now travels to schools all over the state, helping other students discover their career potential.
Tim says he likes that his success is contingent on being good at building relationships because that is what he loves most. We at the CDC are thrilled that CareerFest played a part of his success story!
