Steps To Prepare For The Fair

Get psyched!

The Internship Expo will offer you a comfortable space to meet organizations seeking interns. Let them know the skills you have to offer and what you want to learn from an internship. Welcome them and thank them for coming to campus!

Prep to impress!

Check out the organizations' websites to learn more. When researching the organizations, take note of how their mission interests you. Think about how you can contribute to their work and the skills you would learn from them.

Look nice!

Choose professional or business casual clothing to wear to the fair. Be practical for Boone weather. The Career Development Center will have a space for you to store your book bags and coats.

Bring your resume!

Remember to bring copies of your resume with extras so you have plenty. If you need a resume, you can use these resources as a guide. The Career Development Center is also available to help you with your resume! Make an appointment with your Career Coach in Handshake or visit the Career Studio.

Be there!

Stop by the Internship Expo as you have time in between classes. Strategize who you want to speak to so if other students are speaking with your target organizations, you can move on to others on your list.

Follow up!

Ask for business cards so you have representatives' names, titles, and contact information. Then, send a note or an email thanking them for their time and re-stating your interest in their internship.
