Careers For Impact

Location: Plemmons Student Union

The purpose of this event is to showcase businesses and non-profit organizations whose missions are purpose-driven with a focus on creating a sustainable and inclusive economy. The event will be held in the Plemmons Student Union with concurrent sessions planned for 11:00 and 2:00. The concurrent sessions will be panel discussions and presentations divided into 3 themes:

  • Science for Change
  • Sustainable Business and Social Entrepreneurship
  • Social Impact and Advocacy

As a result of this event:

  • Students will begin to identify the type of workplace culture they want.
  • Students will meet and network with employers whose values are aligned with theirs and learn about current and future work opportunities.
  • Students will gain knowledge to move towards a desired career path, including first destination and beyond.
  • Employers will gain a broader understanding of the career interests and skills of Appalachian students.
